Syrah 85%, Cabernet Sauvignon 158%
The 2020 Bastide de Margüi "1784" Rouge delivers on its harmony of blending Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon with exceptional concentration and depth of flavor. The Syrah leads with savory elements of licorice, roasted coffee, dried sage & lavender. The addition of Cabernet Sauvignon is a welcome choice in supplementing the savory elements with dark berry, cedar, plum, and black cherry. A supple finish and gentle tannins provide poise to the 2019 Bastide de Margui 1784 Rouge. A graceful and eloquent composition of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, 1784 Rouge have deep notes of black cherry and currant with hints of cloves. A tremendous wine partner to grilled duck breasts with pomegranate-chipotle sauce, spicy pineapple teriyaki lamb chops, or a hearty charcuterie with Toulouse sausages.
