Our Chardonnay was hand harvested early in the morning from late September into early October 2018. This wine was whole cluster pressed, followed by cold settling in stainless tanks before going to barrel for fermentation. The slow fermentation in barrel allowed for exuberant tropical & citrus aromas, in addition to offering a compelling texture across the palate. Post fermentation sur lie stirring and aging added additional layers of complexity in our winemaking process. Aged 14 months in French Oak.
The 2018 Skywalker Chardonnay showcases the unique coastal climate and Marin County terroir. Generous fruit aromas of lemon, lychee and white flower blossom are accentuated by delicate sweet oak nuances and a briny minerality. On first taste flavors of pineapple, pomelo and citrus are present. The palate is crisp on entry followed by richer flavors of hazelnut, brioche and crème brûlée leading way to a long finish.
